Ceriagrion cerinorubellum (Ornate Coraltail)

found in Cambodiafound in SingaporeWe were told that this stunningly beautiful creature is the most common damselfly in Singapore. Common it may be but how could anyone tire of admiring such a delightful creation as this. I’ve read an opinion that, in Europe, the Orange White-legged Damselfly (Platycnemis acutipennis), is our most attractive but it pales just a little when compared to this. Unusually, the female is painfully similar to the male.

Apparently, these occur in Cambodia as well, though we didn’t see any there.
