In Europe, catching a Macromia splendens (Splendid Cruiser) hung up is a bit like finding the holy grail. In Australia, FNQ 2022, I’d seen this cousin, Macromia tillyardi (Australia Cruiser) flying fast, tirelessly, and failed to snag it. Imagine my joy at later finding one hung up and apparently quite relaxed about being approached.
These are endemic to northern Australia.
