Agriocnemis femina (Variable Wisp)

found in Cambodiafound in SingaporeWhen we first saw these tiny delights in Kent Ridge Park, Singapore, we couldn’t believe how tiny they are, a mere 20mm long, noticeably less than an inch and far smaller than anything that occurs in Europe to my knowledge. That first individual, a female, was infested with even tinier flies, poor thing. They are quite common and we subsequently spotted them in several other locations, including Cambodia, once we knew what we were looking for.
