Austroaeschna speciosa (Tropical Unicorn Darner)

[ I make so many mistakes trying to type “Austroaeschna” when the European genera are “Aeshna”. My fingers are programmed wrongly. 😀 ]

This species is endemic to the mountainous regions of northeast Queensland, Australia, so I was very happy that we bumped into one, a female, at Davies Creek Falls. I will gloss over the fact that I initially failed to identify it.
