Agriocnemis argentea (Silver Wisp)

A diminutive and delightful damselfly whose males, when mature, become covered in a whitish pruinescence. Females are confusing given the scant Australian documentation because they seem to come in a few different colours.

When I spotted several mature males in grass beside the Barron River crossing during FNQ 2022 I was captivated. They are tricky to photograph, though, being small and keeping low down. I could’ve done with being a bit younger. 😀
