Ischnura pruinescens (Colourful Bluetail)

This is found in New Guinea as well as Australia. It strikes me that, whilst the scientific name is clearly after the male with its pruinosity when mature, the common name owes its derivation to the females, which can have a strikingly yellow or orange thorax.

I did snag a single female looking decidedly green at Big Mitchell Creek. My male examples were from the Cattana Wetlands.
