Diphlebia hybridoides (Giant Rockmaster)

I’m not sure how giant giant is compared to other species of Rockmaster – they’re all large for damselflies – but these are certainly impressive characters, both in size and colour. The Australian guide by Theischinger and Hawking is of little help when it comes to size of the adult.

We found ours in the Mount Lewis National Park during our FNQ 2022 trip. The lighting was very harsh and I struggled to get decent pictures, needing all the help Lightroom could give me.
