Pseudagrion deningi (Dark Sprite)
[The first new species page for a couple of years following Covid-19 lockdowns.]
This was our first encounter with any odonata on our July 2022 safari trip to Botswana and Zambia. I feel somewhat thrilled to have found what seems to be a relatively thinly recorded species. These were all on the Cubango River near Shakawe in northwest Botswana on the side of the Okavango Delta.
Id Notes
- ♂ – mostly black dorsally
- ♂ – S8 & 9 have a blue tail light.
- ♂ & ♀ similarly coloured.
- ♂ & ♀ underside of eyes green.
