The sexes of P. electra (Golden Amberwing) are coloured identically according to Dennis Paulson’s book, although all my specimens are male. It is necessary to be a little aware of P. domitia (Slough Amberwing) which can look quite similar though the abdominal stripes are straighter. I didn’t see it but Phil did.
My specimens were seen at the wonderful La Sela Biological Reserve and at Reserva biológica Tirimbina.
