Costa Rica has 7 species of threadtails split across 3 genera. Protoneura and Psaironeura are very slender, hence the common name. (The 3rd more robust genus is Neoneura.)
Psaironeurs angeloi (Wispy Threadtail) has a very similar cousin, Psaironeura selvatica (Selva Threadtail). The tops of the eyes help distinguish the two, P. angeloi having dark tops to the eyes while P. selvatica has all red eyes.
This character was at the Tirimbina Reserve.
