On the Anisopteran front, the Costa Rican Micrathyria species (Dashers) – there are 13 of ’em – can be a bit of a nightmare; I made several mistakes and/or just scratched my head. This is one of the more obvious candidates.
This is the only Micrathyria with a narrow, entirely black (in the mature male) abdomen with no hint of a club, bearing fairly long, narrow white spots on S7. These characters were at La Selva Biological Station.
