Elasmothemis cannacrioides (Ruddy Streamskimmer)

These are stream dwellers. According to the book:

Males cruise up and down streams like clubskimmers and sylphs but perch like setwings on leaves and twigs over the water with wings depressed.

I encountered this character twice at La Selva Biological Reserve [the first three photos] then again outside Parque Nacional Palo Verde [4th photo] the park itself being closed.
