Aethriamanta aethra (Blue Adjutant)

seen in CambodiaOne of several similar-looking blue dragonflies in SE Asia, this one is a stronger blue than others with a dark brown patch at the base of the hind-wing. It is rare in Singapore but we found one example in Cambodia.

My book, A Photographic Guide to the Dragonflies of Singapore, has the vernacular name for this as Blue Adjudant but I think that’s a typo.
