Telebasis isthmica (Green-eyed Firetail)

Males of this species are very distinctive with a blue face, green to blue-green eyes and thorax, and a red abdomen.

We found our only example on a stream just outside the (closed) gates of PN Palo Verde. Well, OK, there weren’t actually any gates as far as I recall but the park was closed.
