Characterized by having a slender abdomen but with a noticeably swollen base in profile, very similar to our European Orthetrum trinacria (Long Skimmer). Abdomens of mature males are entirely black whilst immatures and females are brown with black bands.
My suspect here (the only one I saw) was at the Laguna del Lagarto Eco Lodge.
