One of the five so-called Clubskimmer species in Costa Rica. We snagged four of them during our 2026 trip. I find the genus name rather ungainly but that’s just me. They are attractive dragonflies with pale blue to greenish eyes.
This, Brechmorhoga praecox, is painfully similar to B. vivax, both having long, slender abdomens. B. praecox extends the light face colouring up alongside the eyes, though.
