Neurothemis tullia (Pied Percher)

occurs in CambodiaWe were very pleased to find this striking creature in Cambodia at Angkor Thom, especially because it doesn’t occur in Singapore. Since I had no Cambodian Odonata information, it remained a mystery until a friend identified it from a Facebook post. What it is to have the Internet and friends – great stuff!

The wings of the male often (maybe most often?) have a white band of varying width outboard of the black area, hence the “Pied” bit of the vernacular name. In Cambodia, they seem to be plain black, though.
