Rhyothemis species are a colourful delight to behold so I was particular annoyed with myself for not having a camera at my first encounter with Rhyothemis graphiptera (Graphic Flutterer). Mercifully, I had plenty more opportunities. This species covers most of Australia and is also found in Indonesia and Papua New Guinea.
The best hunting ground for these was, once again, the Mount Coot-tha Botanic Gardens in Brisbane, where they were flying in the company of a congener, Rhyothemis phyllis (Yellow-striped Flutterer). Most of these photographs come from there.
