Trithemis pallidinervis (Dancing Dropwing)

found in Cambodiafound in SingaporeWe saw quite of few of these on our tour and both male and female always seemed to perch with their wings held aloft, so quite why they are termed “Dropwing” is beyond me. Males and females look very similar so we’re left to study the shape of the abdomen and look closely at the anal appendages to make a determination as to sex.

Pretty looking creatures, whatever we decide to call them in English.
