Locations in the UK

Below is a Google Map of useful Odonata sites that we know of in the UK.

  • Pink markers are sites that we have visited – if you click on them you’ll see a list of species we’ve identified at that site.
  • Blue markers are likely candidate sites that we are yet to visit.

Do you take suggestions of sites from ‘The Public’? If so can I suggest Wilford Claypit NR, SK 570 355, species seen are Emperor, Broad-bodied Chaser, Four-spotted Chaser, Black-tailed Skimmer, Brown Hawker, Southern Hawker, Migrant Hawker, Common Darter and Ruddy Darter. Not so varied for Damselfly, Azure, Common Blue, Blue-tailed and Large Red.

I do, Rod. Anyway, you’re not really public, you’re a member of our Farcebook group. 😀

The species lists on my pins are the those that I’ve seen at the site, rather than an exhaustive list of those present. I will certainly plot your suggestion as a TBV site, though; I’m frequently looking for new places to explore. Thank you.

[Crumbs, that looks like an oasis in a desert of buildings. Intriguing.]
