Gomphus pulchellus (Western Clubtail)

Not as club-tailed as other Clubtails and not in the UK, this is a chap we’re familiar with from France. The markings on the side of the thorax seem to be the critical distinguishing feature when it comes to Clubtails.

Id Notes

  • Separated eyes (like all Gomphids), pale blue in this case
  • Pale yellow with black markings with yellow stripe along top of abdomen to S10
  • Complete, wavy interpleural stripe on side of thorax
